Year 4 pupils…
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to school!
It has been great to begin to get to know the class and settling them into Year 4. To cover my PPA time, Miss Hoskin will be taking the class on a Thursday morning. Mrs. Walden will be in class each morning to support the children and Miss Douglas will also be in class every day.
Each week the children will need their full P.E. kits on a Monday and a Tuesday and I am asking that children leave their kits in school. We will then send them home to be washed at half term.
Every Monday homework tasks will be uploaded onto Google Classroom for the children to complete online, focusing on essential skills. This needs to be completed and submitted by Sunday evening and we will go through the questions in class.
Reading is a very important skill and helps children across the entire curriculum. Please encourage your children to read as often as possible, aiming to read aloud with an adult at least 3 times each week. This, along with any independent reading, should be recorded in their reading record and brought into school each day.
In addition to our English and Maths lessons, our theme this term is ‘Marvellous Myths’ focusing on Ancient Greece. There are lots of exciting activities planned and I am sure that the class will enjoy learning about this area of history across our History, Geography, Art, D and T and Music lessons. In P.E., I will be working with the children on a variety of skills this term including gymnastics, fitness and tennis. In Science, they will be looking at electricity and animals including humans.
If you have any queries or concerns, please speak with me at the end of the day or phone the school office and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I am looking forward to the year ahead with you and your children.
