Year 6 pupils…
Welcome back to a new year! Hopefully you have all enjoyed the break and recharged your batteries ready for some more great learning!
Following some really brilliant writing around our ‘Jabberwocky’ unit just before Christmas, this half of term looks very exciting for English as well, with a newspaper report, technical explanation text and formal letters all set around a ‘mysterious’ umbrella. Maths continues to be vital as part of our learning and revision towards SATs. The topic this term, covering History and Geography, will be World War 2. The children are extremely keen to learn more about this period of history, and are already bubbling with questions! We look forward to some great learning opportunities and homework coming in!
New class representatives for school and eco councils, as well as ‘bully busters’ will be voted for in the coming week.
Year 6 will also be trialing a new, weekly spelling challenge system – please look out for the letter with more information… there is an exciting prize on offer!
We have no doubt that the term will fly by with the children continuing to show great ambition and working hard to achieve their best!
