Return to Classes

Year 6

Year 6 pupils…

Welcome back to your final term at Alban Wood- we can’t believe how quickly this year has gone! Hopefully you have all enjoyed the break and are ready for the last push to the end of the year!

This term sees Harry Potter becoming our focus for writing, with a newspaper report, formal letters and Quidditch Commentary all planned for the first few weeks of term; we are very confident that the class’s creativity will really shine through on this! Maths continues to be vital as part of our learning and revision towards SATs. The topic this term, covering History and Geography, will be Africa, once the WW2 has been completed. This will combine lots of interesting elements to inspire the children – hopefully the weather will warm up and help our imaginations!

New class representatives for school and eco councils, as well as well-being ambassadors, will be voted for in the coming week.

Following the success of the Year 6 spelling competition (well done to the winner of the kindle), we will continue to run this challenge until the end of the summer term, with another prize up for grabs!

We look forward to seeing the children really strive to achieve their very best over the next term, while making their last memories of their time here at Alban Wood! Good luck!
